The Artist's Note

His word, His heart, His desire…the authority of the written Word of God. We as believers know and believe that the Word of God is the final authority! As we set our hearts to obey and live by these words of life, Philippians 2:16 says, “Holding out and offering to everyone the Word of LIFE, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to rejoice greatly, because I did not run [my race] in vain nor labor without result.” As a mom leading and praying over my children, I desired that the bulls-eye of God’s Word be made the center of our home. I found that over and over in my conversations with my children a handful of godly principles would continue to come up in our conversations.

I decided to create a piece that highlighted those virtues that I desire we practice every day. I added the scriptures to every virtue. The 9 virtues listed are not just the “sentiment” of a momma’s heart, but come directly from the Word of God and all come with a promise! As parents, we want to teach our children what God’s Word says and bring their hearts to see HIS! I pray that this piece would generate many conversations around the table of your home as you apply His Word and His heart to every circumstance in life! He is the answer…He tells us how to walk things out…He has not left us to ourselves.

Jesus, write Your Word on our babies' hearts and draw them with Your cords of lovingkindness. Overwhelm them with Your love, and bring them forth in Your love. It’s much more fun and much easier to love You and obey You, than it is to turn away from You and disobey! Help us teach our family Your ways, in Jesus' name!
